Q4 e-tron confirmed for Australia
Audi’s all-electric portfolio to expand in 2024 with the inclusion of the Q4 e-tron models.
Its combination of size and usability set the Q4 e-tron apart from its larger e-tron siblings.

Both a rear-wheel drive and a quattro variant will be released in Australia
Audi Australia has used the Melbourne EV Show to announce the expansion of the brand’s EV range in Australia with the arrival of the Q4 e-tron models in 2024. The mid-sized battery electric SUV is expected to arrive in middle of 2024, bringing even greater choice to the brand’s all-electric ranks Down Under with both SUV and Sportback variants offered to Australian customers.
The Q4 e-tron models will join the new Q8 55 e-tron which is making its first Australian appearance at the Melbourne EV Show before going on sale later this year. But where the Q8 55 e-tron and Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron represent the top specification of the brand’s all-electric SUV models, the new Q4 e-tron is a compact luxury model that will appeal to those wanting a smaller, zero emissions vehicle, but with characteristic Audi design, engineering and appointment.
Although final specification and pricing will not be announced until closer to the Q4 e-tron’s Australian release, when it arrives next year both a rear-wheel drive version and a model variant featuring Audi’s electric quattro all-wheel drive will be offered Down Under. Both of these variants will also be available as both an SUV and as a Sportback giving customers even greater choice in both styling and driveline.
The Q4 models have proved tremendously popular in markets around the globe since first being unveiled in 2021. Their combination of size and usability set the Q4 e-tron apart from its larger e-tron siblings, while the presence of different drivetrains and new technology offering like the optional augmented reality head-up display, have struck a chord with customers since its release
The brand’s first offering in the compact luxury EV segment, the Q4 e-tron and its Sportback sibling nevertheless offer significant interior accommodation for up to five occupants and their luggage thanks to a 2.76 metre wheelbase and the positioning of the battery in the floorpan of the car. This makes for an interior that offers tremendous space and headroom for occupants as well as storage of 520 litres or 1490 litres with the rear seats folded flat for the SUV variant and 535 litre or 1460 litres for the Sportback.
Boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.28 for the Q4 e-tron and 0.28 for the Sportback, its design is not only practical and aesthetically pleasing, but ‘slippery’ which adds to its range of up to 520 kilometres depending on the variant and drivetrain.
The arrival of the Q4 e-tron in 2024 represents another significant milestone in the brand’s electric offering Down Under, which will also see the arrival of the Audi Sq8 e-tron and SQ8 Sportback e-tron performance models next year.
